A South Korean Layover

Normally I hate layovers. It’s a waste of time, it’s a hassle moving from one plane to another, and airports are not a comfortable place to rest. However, I was pretty excited for the one coming back from Vietnam. We had a 11-hour layover in Seoul, South Korea. This was my first time in Korea and could not wait to explore! My boyfriend visited multiple times over the years since his sister lives in Seoul.

With our limited time we decided that less is more in terms of experiences and limited ourselves to 2 activities – eating and shopping. Unfortunately for us, a 2-hour wait in the immigration line was added to our itinerary.

But no worries, though a bummer, I still had plenty of fun! And this just means I have to go back for a proper visit!

They took me to the Noryangjin Fish Market and we bought fresh seafood and took them upstairs where they chopped and prepared your fresh haul for you for a small fee. I tried an octopus’s tentacle while it was still moving. =X

Afterwards we went shopping at Myeongdong and stocked up on face mask, cosmetics, and super cute socks! More details of my haul below. 😀
